  • Albuquerque Museum 2000 Mountain Road Northwest Albuquerque, NM, 87104 United States (map)

Seven local art organizations (Albuquerque Museum, artAttendant, Central Features Contemporary Art, Richard Levy GalleryThe Necessarian, TIASO, and UNM University Libraries) join forces to present the Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, an international, annual, all-day, community-organized event that aims to teach the public how to edit, update, and add articles on Wikipedia.

The Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon is designed to generate coverage of women and the arts on Wikipedia and encourage female editorship. The main purpose of the event is to contribute and amend meaningful content to the Wikipedia information network. People of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate.

Participants will receive a brief orientation training for Wikipedia editing on the day of the event and will be coached throughout the day. Local arts leaders and administrators are encouraged to contact Nancy Zastudil to facilitate representative editors from their respective organizations to edit or create entries for their curators, exhibiting artists, and/or art collections.
